Cypress Winter Update

A little winter update from Cypress.

The lake is currently experiencing extremely cold temps and we expect this to continue through the end of next week.  You may note that I do walk units more often during this time so please be aware when you are alerted that someone is in your unit. The HOA Board does want to remind everyone to please keep your thermostat no lower than 55 and as always keep your water shut off while not here.

We are expecting Ameren to start the winter drawdown soon.  I do frequently check in on the lake level report line to keep updated since this can happen at anytime and with the cold temps this is a concern. To be prepared Russ has put the deicer’s in the proper area. We ask that you please leave them alone if you are on the docks.

If you are new to the lake it is important to understand the following information regarding the drawdown.

Ameren is preparing for the winter drawdown over the next 2 weeks. This helps reduce the possibility of flooding during the Spring rains. Bagnell Dam holds back water from the Osage River to create Lake of the Ozarks. This stored water fuels Ameren MO Osage Energy Center, which provides clean energy to Missouri electric customers. Ameren has been providing electric and gas service for more than 100 years, and the company’s electric rates are among the lowest in the nation. Ameren does service 64 counties and more than 500 communities, including the greater St Louis area.

I hope this information has been helpful and please feel free to email me if you have any concerns.

Stay warm,

Stacy
